In between these games the team defeated all-comers and played some exciting and skilful rugby. There were no significant weaknesses and all the players deserve congratulations both for their contributions and the cheerful way they went about training. If names have to be singled out, then the success of the team can be said to have been built round the front row of Gunn, Parsors and Edwards the developing skills around the base of the scrum of McConchie and Scrum-Half, the strength of Geldard at centre andlthe speed of Pearson on the wing.
One of the significant features of this side was its strength in defence - here Black at Full-Back was very sound - allied to flawless handling in attack.
If there is one area which requires improvement it is in kicking of all types the Medway final was lost, because of poor penalty kicks and inaccurate punting. This aspect of the game must be concentrated on next year.
Both coaches would like to add their personal thanks to the whole group for a thoroughly enjoyable year.
