WELLINGTON HOUSE REPORT

We can report a year of achievement having had a successful and generally happy year. Mike Lambert is this year's Victor Ludorum with Rich Colquhoun runner-up, Chris Maile our cricket star and Chris Green, Andy Tasker and Jeremy MacAnley have done well in sailing.

We had the usual number of runner-up-prizes including Rugby and Drill competitions but happily Chris Green, Kai Dwyer, Mark Bruce and Mike Lambert secured the (phantom) water-polo cup.

Good wishes to our beavers in their varied new careers and to Mr and Mrs Luton who leave in December with a welcome to Mr Ellender who takes over as Housemaster.

Despite all our efforts Mrs Stockley and Mrs Watson have.kept us clean and well turned out for which we are grateful.

WOLSELEY HOUSE NOTES

The House began the year in a shaky manner but after about 1/2 term settled down, all years adjusting to their new positions.

Sportswise we had a successful year taking 5 cups, all of them major sports including Rugby, Hockey and Athletics - the Athletics being the most unexpected of them all. A lot of effort was put in by all the years, into our success not only on the field, but on the sidelines as well, led, as always by our ever encouraging Housemaster.

Our U6th that left, all made a vast contribution. To their 'A' levels, and at the same time playing sport and trooping off for what they call;"sweeties" (another subtle school "in" word). Bruce "H of H" Baker, Bob, "Captain of Rugby" Baker, Michael "How's the work going" Phipps, Simon, "I've go a clean study" Baxter, Alan "skateboard" Messenger, Martin "got any two pence pieces" Skinner, and Ian "sit on the High table" Jenner, we wish them all the success in the future, whatever they chose to pursue.

The Pool table was the most appreciated addition to the house in the past year, many people deriving hours of pleasure from it, the rest being subjected to the warp, and falling by the wayside.

As usual Mrs Newell kept the house in "excellent" condition, (now everyone knows why the Commissioners visit Wolseley.) We are endebted to her efforts.

Mrs Hopkinson, our Matron, kept up her vigilance throughout the house, even helping Mrs Newell to nurse back to health a few 'weak' plants.

No house notes of Wolseley would be complete without mention of THE DOG HONEY. Often referred to as HUNOIR, but her attitude was consistent throughout despite efforts to turn her wild - M.P.

Finally I'd like to say I hope this year is even more successful than last year.

P MacKenzie
