Even a well thought out and superb execution of-the final over-by Martin Fenn in Wolfe's initial bid for the six-a-side cricket- championship,- couldn't quell the heathens? who narrowly- scored- 58 runs from 6-,overs., Wolfe's. reply, hampered by unfortunate batting and fortunate bowling resulted in a magnificent 36 all out. Acknowledgement must go to Royce Wood whose inexhaustive effort and devious spin bowling almost won the day.
In the hard fought traditionally hard fought drill competition Wolfe was again jinxed with the unfavourable surfaces on the parade square, but despite this setback, still managed to leave the judges aghast.
Finally we would- just like to mention the most notable of all Wolfe achievements namely the development of sarcasm, and the pioneering of the 'Jaw Extension.' Most of the credit falls on Mike; without whose tireless effort in this field none of this would have been at all-possible.
On a more serious note however we would like-to say goodbye and good luck to those who have left, and sincere thanks to all those concerned with the smooth running of the house.
After such enviable achievements as -those aIready mentioned people might ask what makes a house so successful. Well in answering that we would like to offer special thanks to the kitchen staff' without whom we might not be what we are today.

If I was to mention the word success then. Then page u,pon page could be written about our sporting achievements this year. To me though we have achieved success in a different way. In 1978 Clive managed successfully to obtain the right blend and formula that equated to it being a very happy house.
This attitude was probably best typified on the-sports field where we acquitted ourselves well, not necessarily through individual skill but by working together as a team. This I hasten to add, is not to say-that we didn't have individuals" being fortunate enough in having Barry Sanderson who was very rarely absent from the sports field, at both house and school level along with Colin Morgan who added much weight and muscle to our teams. Andy Noakes, managed to represent two county teams (Kent & Sussex) and should-be duly congratulated.
To finishing off the sporting side 1 think the whole house deserves recognition for reaching the several finals that we did and winning most of those we reached.
On an academic note this has been a good year with Clive being represented well at "prize giving" on Grand Day by Colin Morgan, Geoff Snelson, Andy Griffee and Steve Sheppard.
House notes wouldn't be complete without mentioning the, vast amount, of work the Mr Hind, Mrs Mill, Mrs Bradley and all the Tutors have contributed to Clive this year so our grateful thanks go to them from all the boys.
Finally we send best wishes and good buck for the future to those whose age, academic ability or personal choice no longer allow them to stay another year ......... much to their dismay.
